Health care system

The Danish health care system is divided into two sectors - first care and hospitals. Health care in the public system is financed through public funds for all permanent residents in Denmark. For any stay of more than three months for non-European citizens and of more than six months for European citizens and people from Nordic countries, you must register at the borgerservice of the municipality you live in. You’ll get your yellow card allowing you to access the public health system.
